The Will of Samuel Bednall of Newcastle-under-Lyme 18 August 1879

This is the last will and testament of me Samuel Bednall of Newcastle-under-Lyme in the County of Stafford, yeoman. In the first place I direct payment by my executors hereinafter named of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expences and subject thereto I give and bequeath all my real and personal estate of whatever description and wheresoever situate unto my executors hereinafter named.  Upon trust that they shall  as soon as conveniently may be after my decease, sell  the same either by public auction or private contract for the best price they can obtain for the same and out of the proceeds thereof to pay in the first place to my son-in-law Benjamin Hancock the husband of my daughter Martha Elizabeth and with whom I ma now lodging, the sum of nine shillings a week from the 16 September [1871]?  The date when I began to lodge with him until my death or so long as I continue to lodge with him as and for a remuneration to him for my board and lodgings   And in the next place to pay and divide the balance remaining in their hands after paying all expense of sale, unto my two daughters, Harriet Yeomans wife of William Yeomans of Hartshill, forgeman and my said daughter Martha Elizabeth Hancock, share and share alike.  I appoint the said Benjamin Hancock and the said William Yeomans joint executors of this my will. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand the day of August 18th one thousand eight hundred and seventy four.
