THE WILL OF THOMAS BADNALL OF WALFORD
 STAFFORDSHIRE, YEOMAN :1676

In the name of God Amen, the tenth of february in ye yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred seaventy & one, I Thomas Badnall of Walford in ye County of Stafford yeoman, being butt weake in body yett in good & perfect memorye (thankes bee to God for it, doe here make this my last will & testament in manner & forme following;

Imprimis  I bequeath my soule to my Lord & saviour Jesus Christ my faithfull Redeemer & my body to the grave to bee buried in ye church of Staundon at ye oversight of my freinds: And for my worldly goods with which God hath Endowed mee I give & bequeath as followeth:

Item I give & bequeath to my Sonn John Badnall one shilling in full discharge of his Childs parte,   Item: I give & bequeath to my sonn William Badnall five shillings; in full discharge of his childs parte:  Item I give & bequeath to my sonn James Badnall five shillings in full discharge of his childes parte:  Item I give & bequeath to my sonn Richard Badnall five shillings & the bed whereon hee useth to lye, in full discharge of his childes parte:   Item I give & bequeath to my daughter Mary five shillings & a Gammon of Bacon, in full discharge of her childes parte,  Item I give & bequeath to my daughter Anne Pyatt twenty shillings in full discharge of her childes parte:   Item I give & bequeath to my loving wife the rest of my personall Estate,(my debts & funerall Charges being first payd) to bring upp my younger children, & In case my wife shall marrye againe, without the Consent of Mr Andrew Vyse & William Eardley that then shee shall pay unto ye said Andrew Vyse & William Eardley twelve poundes to bee sett forth for ye good of my younger children,   Item I doe make my wife my sole Executorix, & desire my loving freinds Mr Andrew Vyse & William Eardley to see this my last will & testament performed whereunto I putt my hand & seale ye day & yeare above written
